A strong focus of this role will be on the timely production of invoices, so a solid grounding in Accounts Receivable is an imperative.

However, we are looking for someone with the experience to provide support to the management and to back-up another senior member of the finance team.  

Variety in the role will include:

 

  • Reconcile bank statement daily

  • Reconcile PAYE

  • Reconcile some balance sheet accounts

  • Ensure creditor payments are processed in timely accurate and efficient manner.

  • Process and close weekly account.

  • Produce timely and accurate month end reporting functions of trading activities of the company

The primary focus of this role is to develop appropriate Health & Safety systems that can then be implemented throughout the business and on the many varied client sites throughout New Zealand, where their crew operate remotely.

Responsibility for implementing policy will remain with individual line managers, but in this critical role, you will assess audits, talk with the management teams regularly and guide them on the best practices to ensure the health, safety and well-being of their 200+ employees.

Regional Accountant

As a supplier of service and product, this business has held its essential place in the New Zealand economy for decades. Its billing cycles follow the primary industry; as they crank up – so too does this business.

Now, following the resignation of one of the company’s Regional Accountants, there is a new opportunity to join the business as it rolls out a plan for capital expansion.

This is not a role removed from the business, sitting behind closed doors in a pin striped suit. Rather, you will engage regularly with people at all levels, including the Branch Managers of four (4) of the company’s divisions, with the production team and with the senior management.

Duties include:

 

  • Financial reporting

  • Analysis to identify and support business trends, projects and decisions

  • Management of debtors and creditors, fixed assets and stocktakes

  • Preparation of annual branch budgets

  • Development and maintenance of appropriate internal controls

  • Assisting in HR requirements, including payroll, performance appraisals and review of appropriate KPI’s

  • Fostering an environment of respect, ongoing learning and accountability

  • Drive to make things happen, in consultation with those who may be impacted or affected by your actions
